Indonesian is the official language of Indonesia. Indonesian one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Indonesian has 23 million native speakers and 140 million second language speakers, who speak it alongside their local mother tongue. It is used extensively as a first language by Indonesians in urban areas, and as a second language by those residing in more rural parts of Indonesia. Indonesian is written with the Latin script.
